Expands Customer Set to Include ISPs with Launch of Wireless LAN Equipment
HONG KONG, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited ("Comba" or "the Group", Hong Kong Stock code: 2342), a leading wireless enhancement solutions provider, announced the expansion of its portfolio of digital microwave products to focus on the core equipment vendor market and the launch of a new range of Wireless LAN (WLAN) equipment aimed at the internet service provider market.
The focusing on core equipment vendors by Comba for its digital microwave products is the result of industry demands for quality OEM products. Increasingly, core equipment vendors are offering complete solutions such for its customers including digital microwave links as part of the total base station solution for example. As such, Comba's microwave products can be integrated seamlessly into the vendor's solution thus providing robust and cost-effective performance.
Further enhancing Comba's OEM digital microwave product portfolio is its new microwave Full Outdoor System (FOS). Including support for MESH/RING/TREE Ethernet networks and 1+1 and 1+0 configurations amongst others, the FOS also features integrated outdoor unit (ODU) and indoor unit (IDU) functions. Directly mounted onto the microwave antenna, the FOS replaces the traditional separated IDU and ODU setup, thereby offering cost-effective and a reduced footprint propositions for customers.
At the same time, Comba announced the commercial availability of a new range of WLAN solutions for the internet service providers (ISP) and wireless operators around the world. With a portfolio that includes wireless access points, wireless access controllers, and WLAN bridges, Comba offers customers a total wireless access solution featuring integrated network management systems. Supporting 802.11a/b/g/n industry standards, these solutions can be configured for a variety of applications such as high density outdoor environments and indoor environments with high demands for data rates typical for hotels, airports, and exhibition halls.
In addition, Comba's expansive wireless solutions portfolio and expertise means it is able to offer a single point of contact for ISPs and wireless operators demanding seamless integration between 2G/3G networks and WLAN networks for ubiquitous data network coverage and roaming.
