For the year ended 31 March 2010, the Group recorded total turnover of approximately HK$41.824 million which comprises a turnover of approximately HK$23.71 million from the sale of fuel oil and chemicals; and approximately HK$18.12 million from the sale of gold. Total Group turnover increased by approximately 33% as compared to last year. Such increase was mainly attributable to the generation of turnover from the sale of gold.
The increase in the Group’s net loss attributable to shareholders was mainly due to the loss on early redemption of promissory note; and the finance costs on convertible bonds and promissory note, which are mainly arising from adopting the effective interest rate method on calculating the amortized cost of a debt instrument and of allocating interest expenses; and the increase in general and administrative expenses, as additional manpower was recruited and deployed to develop the Group’s precious metal business.
